Sunrise provides musical theatre, drama, song-writing, and other arts programs to several international schools in Shanghai, a boost to the art curriculum to the schools.

In the Musical Theatre program, we not only encourage our students to challenge themselves to become the best actors, singers, and dancers they can be, but to become the best human beings they can be as well. The Musical Theatre program is a family and we ensure that our students learn and grow in a safe and comfortable environment. 

Students will be preparing the final performance under an intensive schedule that will require memorization and practice of choreography, songs and spoken scenes as assignments on weekly basis. Skills involved in musical theatre performance include public speaking, basic actor’s tools, self-expression, basic vocal technique and breath support, vocal projection, repertoire background, musical theatre history, body awareness, circus skills and kinesthetic learning. Students will be assigned different parts/materials within the show and will be directed and oriented towards the performance. Parts include group numbers and soloist moments, either with monologues, dancing or singing solos.
